World War II Film | Recce (Location Scouting)

Friday, 3 July 2015

Hi guys! So today, I went location scouting (more commonly known as a Recce) for an upcoming short film that is going to be set in the World War II period! We went to the White Mill Heritage site in Sandwich, which is going to be the main location for the bulk of our film and took some pictures and decided on how we were going to shoot things.

The White Mill is a heritage site and features a White Windmill and a small farmhouse that has been preserved in the World War II time period and also features a range of farm machinery displayed outside for guests and visitors to see.

If you want to check out their website, click here! The Mill and its surrounding assets are maintained by volunteers all year round. Their hard work though sadly does go unnoticed, so by making this film at this heritage site, we are offering them to also make a short promotional film for the site for free!

We all feel that the kind and generous people who commit their time and effort here need to be recognized in what they do. It was a pleasure today to be shown round the facilities.

Here are some of the pictures that we got of the site! WE ALL CAN'T WAIT TO START FILMING!

All of these pictures were taken inside the small house located next to the White Mill.

I'm so excited and can't wait to share more stuff about this film with you guys!

Love, K :)
