The Mill | Teaser Clip

Wednesday, 23 September 2015

I am so excited to share this with you all!

As some of you may know, I was lucky to be part of a film project in the Summer along with some of my friends. We made a short WW2 film situated around a young couple. I made a blog post about the recce (location scouting) here, if you want to have a read and did daily vlogs on my second Youtube channel here, you want to have a gander :)

This is only a teaser of what is to be expected, and I haven't seen the film at all yet, o I am quite excited for it to be finished!

I hope you all enjoy the clip!

Zoella Beauty - Scrubbing Me Softly Smoothing Body Scrub | Beauty Review

Tuesday, 15 September 2015

I haven't bought any items form the Zoella Beauty range before, but I have read and seen a few reviews and it all looks pretty positive!

This stuff is AMAZING! I am sitting here in my towel writing this review because it was that good! I'm trying not to get water on my laptop as my hair is still soaking wet.

I was so surprised when I used this as I honestly didn't expect it to be this good! I don't think I'll ever use another body scrub again! You don't have to use a lot as the scrub does go quite a long way.

I used this after washing with body wash, just to exfoliate my skin a bit better. You can instantly smell the fruity scent and the cocoa-butter gets to work right away! After I dried myself off my skin was left feeling radiant and my confidence was sky high! I felt great! For this reason, I highly recommend this if you have a job interview or are going out for a nice date or party :)

I cant describe how nice this body scrub is unless you buy it for yourself and try it!

After using this product, I feel like I have to try the whole range out now! There is also a body lotion that has the same ingredients as the body scrub, so I might have to buy that son as well!

Let me know if any of you have bought anything from the Zoella Beauty range, and let me know what you thought!

Bungalow Glow Hawaii - Seaside Pikake & Water Lily Soap | Beauty Review

Friday, 11 September 2015

My friend recently went on a very lovely holiday to America and Hawaii a few weeks ago and she kindly brought me back this lovely Hawaiian soap from Bungalow Glow!

The moment she handed it to me I could smell the luxurious scents! AND IT SMELLS INCREDIBLE! I don't think I have ever forced family members to smell a soap before, but it was definitely worth it as they, too, agreed with me!

The soap has scents of Seaside Pikake and Water Lily and smells really exotic and relaxing, which will be great if you use this when you have a bath! The soap also boasts Coconut Butter and Macadamia Nut Oil, both of which are amazing for your skin!

The thing that surprised me the most was the 'built in' Loofah! I have never seen this before in a soap! I thought that it was a great idea to have a loofah IN a soap, especially if you are travelling and you want to travel light, this is a great product to have!

Before I even used it, i could tell it was gong to be a great soap! Whilst showering, the aroma of the soap filled my bathroom and made my skin smell AMAZING and it was also super soft afterwards! This definitely is my new favourite soap and will be so sad when it runs out :(

If you would like to purchase a this soap, or a different one, click here!

The shop has some amazing products and some that I will definitely be buying myself!

I Got A Hair Cut!

Sunday, 6 September 2015

As some of you might know, I have always had really long hair, like, REALLY LONG. I have found over the past few months that the length on my hair was starting to annoy me somewhat and I decided that I needed a change.

I have only ever had my hair short ONCE in my whole life (which was in Yr6 and I had a bob, which I hated!) so deciding to get the chop was a big decision for me, especially when my friends and family always comment on my long hair and am somewhat recognizable to my family for the length of my hair. BUT NEVERTHELESS, I decided to chop off most of my luscious locks.

I now feel like my hair is so much more manageable and it doesn't get in the way like it used to! I'm really excited to start trying some new hairstyles and experiment with the look!

The first picture was taken a few days after my leaver prom in 2013, but it's a rough idea of how long my hair was before I got it cut. And the second picture is now!

Before (ish)

Let me know of any of you know of any great hairstyles for short hair that I can try out and experiment with! I would love to try some :)

Daughter of Smoke & Bone | Book Review

Saturday, 5 September 2015

Rating: 4/5

'Errand requiring immediate attention. Come'

The Blurb Reads:

"In general, Karou has managed to keep to two lives in balance. On one hand, she's a seventeen-year-old art student in Prague; on the other, errand-girl to a monstrous creature who is the closest thing she has to family. Raised half in our world, half in Elsewhere, she had never understood Brimstone's dark work - buying teeth from hunters and murderers - nor how she came into his keeping. She is a secret even to herself, plagued by the sensation that she isn't whole.

Now the doors to Elsewhere are closing, and Karou must choose between the safety of her human life and the dangers of a war ravaged world that may hold the answers she has always sought."

I really enjoyed reading this book, and it didn't take me too long to really get into it either. This is a fantasy like no other that I have read and it's style reminds me of Guillermo Del Toro's 'Pans Labyrinth' in the fact that it has these two very different, yet very believable worlds to the characters. If this was ever turned into a film, Del Toro would definitely be interested!

I found Karou really difficult to relate to at first, but then grew to understand her and the things she does. The imagery is very vivid and beautiful, so those of you that have seen Pan's Labyrinth won't have to imagine much more.

Overall, you get to love the characters and the narrative is full of twists and definitely makes you turn the page!

It is the right mix of fantasy and real world and I really loved every page of it!

So, for those of you that love dark fantasy and a love story like no other, look no further!

Little Things | Film Project

Tuesday, 1 September 2015

This is a very difficult post for me to write, but I'm going to try my best.

In January 2015 a dear friend of mine passed away.

Mara was one of my best friends for time, but sadly as some friends do, we drifted apart. Years ago we talked about making a film, because we were both in the same drama class and both loved acting. The film idea was about the 'little things' in life that people don't normally see.

Everyone decided to do something in her memory like write a song or get a tattoo, and I have still yet to do anything.

Her sudden loss was really hard for me to come to terms with, and to this day still is. I want to make this film for her because it will be my way of saying 'thankyou', 'I love you' and 'farewell'.

So, this is where I need everyone's help.

I need you to send in video's via Skype telling me what you think the 'Little Things' in everyday life are. This video is going to be similar to those of the 'collaboration projects' that JacksGap does in the way that everyone's videos will be made into a montage.

To send in a video all you have to do is find me on Skype under the user name: thelittlethingsfilm    and then send me a video message.

For more information about this little project of mine, please watch the video that I uploaded onto my channel.
