1 Year On Youtube!

Sunday, 11 October 2015

This month is very exciting for me, but this day, even more so! BECAUSE TODAY MARKS THE FIRST DAY I STARTED YOUTUBE! That's right! One whole year ago I started my Youtube channel, and I have had so much fun!

I first started making Youtube video's because my Media Studies teacher suggested that I should (I have no idea why), and I was always looking for things to edit (as I really loved editing footage for some reason). I was also inspired by my best friend Hannah as she also had a Youtube channel. So thats why I decided to make videos!

I love filming anyway, but at first I found it hard to decide what kind of content I wanted on my channel or what I would talk about. My first video, which you can see here, was just a little introduction to myself and what I'm like (as I am wonderfully weird and am such a fangirl).

Afterwards I decided to talk about my film projects and books, and that's what I've really gone with, although I do upload videos about me talking about my favourite things and videos with different content. I don't really consider myself to have a specific 'genre' to my channel, I just upload what I love talking about and hope people enjoy what I'm talking about!

Earlier this month I made a new channel dedicated to my vlogs, which you can find here, that I have filmed. I decided to do this as I will be having quite a few vlogs lined up for you in the next few months, and decided that it would be best to make a new channel so my main channel isn't bombarded with vlog videos. I am very excited to see this channel grow and hope you all are there with me on my journey of developing that channel!

To watch the video on my channel about my 1 Year Youtube anniversary, you can watch it here :)

I hope to keep making Youtube videos for many more years to come! Here's to the future!

Love, K :)

New Camera | Canon 750D/Rebel T6i

Friday, 9 October 2015

GUYS! MY NEW CAMERA CAME TODAY! As you can probably tell, I am super excited that my new camera came this morning, and it arrived earlier than expected! It is the Canon 750D (or the Canon Rebel T6i if you live across the pond).

I had never had a DSLR before apart from my very old Nikon D80, which didn't have the option to film (which is what I needed it for) so this Canon is a very nice camera for me! I will primarily be using it to film on (as I make films and Youtube videos) but am looking forward to seeing all of its features and to lean how to use it properly as I am not sure of all of the technical terms.

As I love filming and editing with RAW footage, I love that you can adjust the colour, saturation, contrast and loads more 'in camera' when filming or taking pictures! This would make colour-grading for my films so much easier!

Taken with my Nikon D80
So far I have only had a little play around on my new camera before the battery died (I don't think it was fully charged) and so far I am really impressed with this little camera.

Here are a few sample images taken n the Canon 750D :)

I can't wait to start filming something on this camera soon! I will be using it whilst in India and will be filming my upcoming short film 'The Little Things' on it too (as well as a few other new and exciting projects I'm working on!). I can't wait to see what he footage looks like on this!

ITS MY BIRTHDAY!

Thursday, 8 October 2015

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me! Today I turned 19 years old! THIS IS INSANE! I have never really felt a certain 'age', I just feel how I am and never really care if people say if I'm immature or not.

Today I was woken from a graceful slumber at 7:30am by my Mum and sister who had a few lovely presents for me. I received a beautiful smelling vanilla candle, a wall hanging (which I now want to re-decorate my whole room around), a massive bar of chocolate and some Cath Kidston smellies!

Later on in the day, my best friend Hannah popped over and delivered some presents off! I hadn't sen her in a while, so it was a lovely visit! I received a lovely notebook, with a heartwarming message from Hannah inside, and a box of Malteasers (because they are my favourite!).

For dinner, myself and my family went to Pizza Hut as I really fancied pizza and absolutely LOVE the salad bar that they have there.

My main present is a brand new Canon 750D which I can't wait to use! That should be arriving on Saturday, and I am super excited! I will be taking this camera with me to India to make a short film on, so hopefully between the two days of getting the camer and going to India I will learn how to use it!

But as well as it being my birthday, it is also the birthday of my dear friend and twinny Mara Nunes. Mara sadly passed away at the beginning of the year and as some of you may know I am making a film for her called 'Little Things'. It is a collaborative film project and if you would like to be involved just watch this video for all of the details! If you may, I would love it if you could contribute to this project and if you would take a few minutes out of your day to think of those suffering with mental illnesses and how we can help them overcome what they are suffering.

Here are  few pictures of the beautiful presents I received today :)

I now want my room to be a dusty pink/purple thanks to this beautiful wall hanging!
I HAD CAKE POPS FOR A BIRTHDAY CAKE!

The Lowdown Of My India Trip

Sunday, 4 October 2015

So folks, if you haven't heard already, I'm off to India very soon and I thought I would give you guys the lowdown of what I will actually be doing whilst I'm out there!

First of all I would like to say that this isn't a holiday! This is indeed a volunteer trip in which we had to fundraise £1200 for, so a lot of hard work and dedication has gone into this trip. The organisation who we are travelling with/the program we are doing, is The Gerry Martin Project (TGMP), you can find their main website here,

You can watch my Youtube video on what I will be doing in India here :)

So, I've got a lot of things planned for you lovely lot! On the days of the Vlog series I will also be writing a mini diary entry on here (my blog) accompanied with a few lovely pictures for you all to see, so, for example, the day that Part One is released on my Second Channel I will also be upload mini diary entries of days 1, 2 and 3 on here with a few pictures!

SO MUCH INDIA!

Posted above is a schedule I created to keep everyone in the know of what I will be doing :)

I HOPE YOU ALL ARE AS EXCITED AS I AM!

Love, K :)
