I am so excited to start Vlogmas! If anyone here doesn't know what Vlogmas is, let me explain. Vlogmas is a lovely time of year were many people on Youtube vlog each day from the 1st of December till Christmas Eve (24th, but some people continue to Christmas day). I have never done vlogmas before and am quite daunted by the task of finding something different and fun to do each day that people would want to watch. But never fear, my little ones, for I have been doing some planning and have a few lovely festive things lined up!

This will definitely be a challenge for me as I will be uploading a video on my second channel each day from the 1st of December till the 24th of December and have never done this amount of continuous vlogging before, but I am excited to see whats in store for me throughout the 24 days of filming.

I will be filming all of my vlogs on my Samsung WB250F Camera which is the camera that I started off filming all of my main channel videos on, but now I have my Canon 750D, I have demoted the Samsung to a vlogging camera. Along-side the vlogs, I will still be uploading videos on my main channel every Saturday at 5:30pm, and you may even get to see how I prepare for a video and the equipment I use!

I love Christmas and all of the festivities surrounding it, so hopefully this should be a lot of fun!

What are you doing for Christmas?

Love, K :)

Christmas Reading | Booklist

Friday, 20 November 2015

Christmas is a great time to snuggle up on the sofa and read a good book or two, so I thought I would share with you all some of my favourite books to read at Christmas time! Some of these books will be some that I own and some that I haven't read yet but like the look of/want to read.

Most of the books mentioned in this list are fantasy. I love fantasy books, and thought that with it being such a magical time of the year, a little extra magic wouldn't do any harm! So grab yourself a cup of hot chocolate and a blanket because this is going to get cozy!

1 - Harry Potter & The Philosophers Stone - J.K Rowling

I know it's not a book solely dedicated to Christmas, but something about this book makes me feel cozy and fuzzy inside. Maybe it's because I have grown up with this book and the rest in the series for most of my childhood, or maybe it's the way that JK Rowling presents Christmas within this book. The reason that I have chosen the first book is because whenever I read it, I feel like I've returned home. I feel like the first book, because it's readers at the time of publication would have been young, feels more magical and full of wonder and the way that the settings, events and world are presented just makes our own world feel like it has a little bit of magic in it too.

2 - The Northern Lights - Phillip Pullman

I read this book in my early teens and really fell in love with the world Pullman had created. It is set in a parellel universe to the one we know and tells the story of a young girl named Lyra who goes on an adventure to the Arctic to save her best friend. This book is filled with fantasy and imagination and is a great read for all ages!

3 - The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe - C.S Lewis

This is a great read for children (and the film is really good too!). But not known by many, this book is actually the second in a series of seven books taking place in the world of Narnia, In this book, the Pevensie children have to save Narnia from the White Witch who has ruled Narnia for 100 years and has forced the land into a deep Winter, and Father Christmas also makes an appearance too! If you have loved the films, you will definitely love the books even more!

4 - A Christmas Carol - Charles Dickens

This is such a classic Christmas tale! I read this whilst at school (as I think most schools in the UK study this book at some point). Even though the vocabulary used within this book might be a bit confusing for some, it is definitely worth the read and holds a heart warming message about Christmas and the act of giving and generosity. My favourite adaptation f this classic book is The Muppets Christmas Carol starring lots of familiar faces from the Muppets and Michael Caine.

5 - Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - J.R.R Tolkien

Although this book isn't Christmas-y at all, I read it over the Christmas period last year and loved it! I have grown up watching the Lord of the Ring films and now in my late tees have seen the book of the Hobbit been adapted into films, so this book and the rest in the series have been with me for a while and also mean a lot to me. This book is recommended for older readers from about 14 upwards as the story does get quite dark at some points and the sheer magnitude of the story-line can be quite confusing for some (think Game of Thrones story-lines).

6 - The Polar Express - Chris Van Allsburg

Now, I have never read this book, but I loved the film! This is a great red for young children as the book is only 32 pages long and tells of a heart warming story of a young boy who finds a train waiting outside his house one night which takes him to the North Pole. This small book is all about the magic of Christmas and one of my favourite lines from the film, and is also in the book is: "At one time, most of my friends could hear the bell, but as years passed, it fell silent for all of them. Even Sarah found one Christmas that she could no longer hear its sweet sound. Though I've grown old, the bell still rings for me, as it does for all who truly believe"

7 - The Snowman - Raymond Briggs

Everyone has seen the beautiful film of The Snowman! Well, why don't you take a look at the book! Although this book consists of pictures and no words, it's illustartions captivate Christmas and is a delight for young readers!

Maybelline Browdrama Sculpting Brow Mascara | Beauty Review

Tuesday, 17 November 2015

After constantly browsing the make-up aisles in my local drugstores, I decided that I couldn't find anything for my eyebrows that would make them look more 'fuller' without them looking tacky or too dark.

BUT THEN, behold the wondrous item that is Maybelline's Browdrama Sculpting Brow Mascara! In the beginning I was looking more for a pencil or a powder to fill in my brows as I was going to buy Maybelline's Brow Satin filling powder and pen, but then I stumbled upon this little gem.

I never thought of buying a brow 'mascara' before as I thought that it would make my brows look too full or too dark, but I was so so wrong. The brush is quite similar to a normal mascara brush, but the end of this brush is rounded to make an easier application on the brow, which is something I really liked. The bristles on this brush also makes it easier to stop clumping and to feather out each lash/hair. I found that to use the slimmer part of the brush, you have to use it at an angle, but still does wonders to my brows!

Priced at £4.99 I really couldn't not buy it! I have seen a few other items similar to this product, but they were at higher prices; this is definitely the best priced brow mascara I have come across so far!

I found that this product makes my eyebrows look more naturally fuller and thicker without it looking like I have applied powder or any other 'brow enhancer'.

I have light/medium brown hair colour and bought the product in a dark brown because my eyebrows are quite dark anyway. They also off this product in shades Deep Blonde, Medium Brown, Dark Brown and Transparent.

I love the fact that they also offer a transparent version of his product as it is great for keeping brows looking defined and sculpted but without the added definition, so that's great if your eyebrows are already lovely and full and don't want them looking any more so.

This is definitely one of my favorite buys in a long time and is something that I will be using on most days! Let me know if you guys have used this product and how you've found it to work for you!

Love, K :)

Zoella Beauty - Candy Cream Softening Body Lotion | Beauty Review

Thursday, 12 November 2015

I have only ever bought one other thing from Zoella's Summer range, and that's the 'Scrubbing Me Softly' Body Scrub, and I loved the product so much! So after a long shop around my local shopping center, I finally popped into Superdrug and bought the Candy Cream Softening Body Lotion.

I saw Zoe talk about this product in one of her vlogs and she said that the product had bursting beads in it. I had never heard of bursting beads before in my life, so I was eager to find out what the product would be like.

The scent is the same (or similar) to the Body Scrub (which is why I loved that product so much!) and really goes a long way! After I came out of the shower (and after using the body scrub!) I applied the lotion and my skin has never felt softer! The bursting beads melted/dissolved and let out a lovely fruity/fresh fragrance.

You really do only need a little bit of this as I found it goes a long way, which hopefully means it will last quite some time!

It absorbs reasonably fast and doesn't have that sticky feel as some moisturizers or body lotions do. It also isn't heavy, as I know some moisturizers are quite thick whereas this one is quite light.

I love this product and range so far and hopefully will be buying some more items from this range, the main range and the new Christmas range that is out! I can't wait!

Love, K :)

1st Blog Birthday!

Wednesday, 11 November 2015

So today is my 1st Blog birthday! It seems crazy that I started this blog a whole year ago! I have really loved sharing what I do with the world and posting about subjects and topics that matter to me. I started this blog after I started my Youtube channel and thought that I could post on here things I couldn't make into a video.

I have always loved writing and still continuously write now, but when I first started, I didn't really know what to blog about. As the weeks passed, I started to write reviews, which I have never done before, and I really enjoyed writing reviews for both beauty products and books. I also have enjoyed writing about more personal ventures, such as my trip to India and sharing different film projects with you all.

I can't wait for another whole year of adventures and blogging!

Love, K :)
