Happy Star Wars Day!

Wednesday, 4 May 2016

For those of you who do not know, today May the 4th, is Star Wars Day! Why, you ask? Well, the popular phase used within the film, 'may the force be with you' is altered to 'may the fourth', hence May 4th is now known as Star Wars Day!

On this day, fans from around the world celebrate the films, comics, books and culture of the films. As a Star Wars fan myself, I had a go at making my own Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster! I wanted to make one that resembles Fin's character poster, as I had just downloaded some software that enables me to do light-saber-y things in After Effects, so expect some really cool short films happening soon!

I'm quite pleased with how this poster turned out and was thinking of making a series of them! But anyway, back to Star Wars...

The franchise means so much to many people around the world, so it only seems apparent that it should be celebrated!

I love Star Wars for many reasons; the vast world/s of the franchise, (more recently) the special effects, but most importantly the characters. There are a vast amount of characters in the Star Wars universe, and these characters have influenced many people around the world. From the heroics of Han Solo, the leadership of Leia, the determination of Luke, the bravery of Rey, courage of Fin and the skill and selflessness of Poe. These characters, and many others, mean the world to so many people, and that's why it should be celebrated!

I hope we can all celebrate this day, and many more to come! What's your favourite Star Wars scene and why? Leave your answer in the comments :)

Love, K :)
